American Fire Company Parade Hat. Leather hat with brim (3" in front tapering to 1 3/8" in rear). Height of central portion of hat is 6" in front and slopes to 1 3/8" at rear. Exterior painted red with 1/4" black borders around rim and base of crown of hat. U.S. emblem/shield in red, white and blue painted on crown beneath a black banner with "American" in 1"-high gold letters. Label inside with "Mr. Jacob Sener." Piece of paper cut and pasted to inside top of hat.
Black leather fire Helmet, Union Fire Company, made by Cairns and Bros., New York City. "UNION" letters on longer tab on back. Two gold cords across front and anchored above ears on both sides around a gold button with "FD" in the center. Attached to helmet in front above the rim is a large gold logo with a silver-colored "1."
"C F MAY" is printed on fabric inside the helmet.

Sign for "Minute Men/ of '60/ Chief Marshal" painted on fabric in white on a red background. Bottom edge is straight with an arc curving from one end to the other. A narrow white border around the entire piece. On both lower ends there are .75-inch slits.

Red box that opens like a book--on the spine in gold letters: "Archives/ I/ Castillon & Co. Cognac." The bottle of cognac (4/5 quart, 80 proof ) with two small glasses and a glass stopper are inside. This box is in a wood shipping box from France. "This bottle of Pinet Castillon Cognac was presented to the UNION FIRE CO. No. 1 in August 1960 upon the 200th anniversary of the Co. On 14 August 1960 a bottle of 116 year old Pinet Castillon Cognac kept in the vault by the Union Fire Co. since 1866 was drunk at the 200th anniversary. Pinet Castillon presented this bottle to be opened 14 August 2060." Signed: "John Ward Willson Loose/ Historian, U.F.C."

Metal storage box with "Union/ S.F.E. & F.H. Co./ No 1 1760" is painted in yellow letters on one end of the box. The box was painted with black enamel. There are .5-inch wide red bands bordered in yellow around the bottom, top of the box and the lid. The top of the lid is decorated with a band of gold paint, bordered in red. Two swivel wire handles, one on each side at the top of the box. Latch on the center front lid. Corresponding piece on front is missing.

Fire department emblem at top end of a metal rod. A circular center, 2.5-inch radius, contains a 1-inch high raised upper-case A with four angled petals. Top petal contains a capital "L;"lower petal: "FD;" left petal: hose attached to hydrant; and right petal: fire equipment including a hat and ladder. Two extensions on back have holes with rod through them. There is also another bent flat metal piece with two holes in the top and two in the bottom. The rod is inserted through the two closest to the emblem. Two remaining holes available to receive another rod. Name for this 'standard' is unknown.f
