Browning pretty much overall. Brown line where another item was placed on it. Upper right corner is ragged and there's a 1.5-inch tear on the side, 2+ inches from the top.
Watercolor portrait of a woman, facing viewer, looking to viewer's left. Brown hair and brown eyes, wearing metal-rimmed eyeglasses. Below pink garment, artist signed "Bertha Rockwell '78."
Donor Regitz writes that this woman may be a Steinman family member.
Brown overall--dark brown edges on reverse. Liquid stain lower left edge on reverse. Front lower left stain on both sides. Lower left corner (2.5" on side x 2" on bottom edge) broken from the painting.
"A.B. Rote & Co., Ornamental and Structural Iron and Steel Works" advertisement containing a list of work done by the company and address. A precise ink drawing (scale 1"= 1 ft.) of a sample ornamental iron gate is featured below the written information.
