Sketch of the location of various military positions in Mexico and Texas during the Mexican-American War, by J. M. Foltz. Shows General Taylor’s position, the Road to Point Isabel, Matamoros on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande, and Fort Polk on Point Isabel. Foltz also makes notations of the batteries, specific battlegrounds and squadrons.

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
This collection contains documents related to Nathan Reist, a teacher, amateur photographer, and Lititz resident. These documents cover a period of roughly thirty years-from 1877 to at least 1907-and the majority concern his teaching career. Students' practice ledgers, writing books, and art evince the variety of classes taught by Reist. A ledger records the activities of a Teachers' Natural Science Club and a leaflet advertises a bee judged by Reist. The few remaining items are a mix of ephemera and advertisements.
Glass plate negatives are housed in the Nathan Reist Glass Plate Collection.
