George Shiffler, a young Nativist, was fatally shot at the Nativist Riots of 1844 in Philadelphia during which mobs attacked Irish-American and Roman Catholic homes and businesses.

a. New York University music pin with G-clef in center.Burnished gold color with uneven edge. Hinged pin and clasp on back.
b. Gold metal Shriner Crescent Saber pin with Eygptian head at top of a crescent moon whose horns have a saber between them. 6 tiny pearls on saber. Hinged pin and clasp on back as well as what looks like an engraved "B."
c. Weber Goldsmith and Silversmith jewelry box. Outside covered in pearl-colored shiny paper with gold edging around top. Gold crest on top says "Established in 1872." Impressed onto the box bottom: " Boxes by/ Dennison/ U.S.A." Inside, the bottom is covered with pale yellow velvet. The top, with pale gold satin is stamped with same crest in red. Below: "Weber/ Goldsmith & Silversmith/ 40-42 No. Queen St./ Lancaster, Penna."
