Encased ambrotype, circa 1865, of Rosine Etta (Hubley) Herr (1850-1889). Seated in plaid dress by a column, in a composition case with gold trim and lined with red velvet.
Dark red fabric banner with pole pocket on left and v-shaped right side. In white letter on the banner: "AMB(ulance) CO(mpany)/ (medical emblem)/ 111. " This information is mirrored in reverse on the other side of the banner.
Thin strip of black leather is attached inside the length of the opening for a pole. Entire piece is machine-stitched with machine-stitched overcasting around the letters.
