Plaque to commemorate James Buchanan's Presidency of the United States, as well as the Chairs he held while serving as a Free Mason in Lodge Number 43, Lancaster, PA.
Silver colored, shield shaped plaque with beveled edge. Four holes, two at top and two at bottom, for mounting. Engraved with 4.5in high ornate "1" in center. A banner like ribbon, curving around it contains "L.F.D." Some black matter in all recessed areas and lines makes numbers and motifs stand out. Cast from brass, plated in white metal, possibly silver. According to accession "this was a numeral plate was taken from Clapp Jones steam fire engine #1 about 1882."
Empire Hook & Ladder plaque or sign. Silver colored metal plaque with .125in wide grooved black border on all four sides, .125in from the edges. Engraved on both ends are a hook and a ladder with "EMPIRE" in the center in .75in high upper case letters. All engraved portions are black. On back are two threaded bolt ends centered 1.625in from each end for attaching sign.
Pennsylvania Coat of Arms once hung over the judge's bench at the old Lancaster county courthouse (1786-1853). Lancaster served as the capitol of of the Commonwealth of PA from 1799 to 1812. Made of oak,

by/Dodge Cork Company, Inc./In commemoration of 60 YEARS SERVICE to the cork industry/October 15, 1967." Piece of cork bark and two stoppers mounted to plaque beneath brass plate.
Sticker on back reads "BARK OF CORK TREE from/1020 Wheatland Avenue/Lancaster, Pennsylvania/CORK STOPPERS made by/G.W. Dodge/Berlin, New York/1870"
