Silver ladies card holder, intricately detailed, "Emily" is on the front. Inside is a paper "10/30/84 From: Dr. Lawrence (Betty) H. Dunlap 1315 Quarry Lane Lanc., Pa 17603 - Silver card case w/ name Emily engraved there on. (May have been purchased in London at Thieves mkt.)"
Light orange satin top is decorated with varied gold and silver metallic threads forming a curved strand of leaves and flowers. Beads (red & white) are used. Entire top of collar is edged in metallic trim. Underside is lined with orange satin. The collar is attached with a hook and eye sewn at the ends.
Ornate chased finial of cane or walking stick. Cane itself is not attached. Foliate and floral motifs. Thin metal filled with heavy-weight, dark substance. Tip engraved with: "Presented/ H L/ to/ Trout/Upon his Retirement/ From Lancaster City Council/ After/ Fifteen Years Service/ April 3 1907".
