Banner was made for Col. Richard White-White was an Buchanan elector. Banner was carried during campaign in counties of Cambria, Blair, Bedford, Indiana-for Northern Eagle Club of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
On front, James Buchanan written along the top above a heatshot engraving of James Buchanan. Beneath the portrait, "IN GOD WE TRUST/15th President/1857-1861". On back, Statue of Liberty, showing top half only. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" written alongside the outer edge of the back of the coin. Underneath arm holding torch is "$1". "DE" inscribed in tiny letters on the cover of the book the Statue of Liberty is holding. Copper colored edges. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" inscribed on edge. "2010 P" and 13 stars also inscribed on the edge.

Piece of lining from President Buchanan's inaugural coat
Description
A 3.25 in x 4 in piece of red, finely woven fabric (may be cotton -- no sheen) attached with scotch tape. Typed below: This piece of lining is from President Buchanan's inaugural coat, made by Charles B. Fisher, a tailor, in 1857, Lancaster, Pa.
In ink on cardboard back: Presented 4/8/54 by a relative.
Red fabric is mounted on thin white paper. Two pieces of browned scotch tape holding top corners, damaging fabric. Stain from tape is visible on the back side of the white paper. Acidic cardboard on back. Needs to be conserved.
Between sheet with fabric and cardboard on back is a wedding photo of a Marine in uniform with his bride.
Inexpensive black frame with metal bendable tabs to secure.

a.(medal): Circular bronzed copper commemorative medal. Raised profile of James Buchanan in center. Around edge:"James Buchanan, President of the United States." Beneath is name of the designer, "S.(alathiel) Ellis. SC."
On reverse: Border of 3 layers of oak leaves and acorns with a striped shield at bottom center. In center above: " In/Commemoration/of the/ First Embassy from/ Japan/to the/ United States/ 1860" On right, beneath striped shield: "Paquet F."
b. Leather case for Buchanan Commemorative medal in the shape of a large coin. On both black leather covers and spine is a gold 3-line border that frames an eagle perched on a striped shield with arrows and olive branches beneath its clawed foot. 13 gold stars surround it and sprays of peonies are in each corner. The book opens to the back. Wood edges frame a circular holder for the medal. Peony sprays are pressed into all 4 corners of the velvet covering.
Commemorates the Japanese Delegation visit to United States of America
Metal plate, brass colored on reverse, tarnished silver on front corners cut on diagonal. Two 1/16-inch holes, 1/4" from side edges. Between these holes, engraved in 1/4-inch high block shadowed letters, all capitals: "Buchanan"
Nameplate had been placed on pew at First Presbyterian Church. (L. Flick 3/12/1991)

Provenance
Samuel Ashmead was a botanist from the Germantown, PA area. He was the donor's husband's great-great grandfather. Passport hung in the donor's husband's grandfather's house for as long as she could remember.
Framed between two pieces of glass. Top right corner has 2 rips in paper caused by humidity and too small of frame. Paper has been folded into fourths with small hole at center of sheet. Also folds horizontally into thirds. Brown spots or stains all over
