Glazed soft paste porcelain bowl, hand-painted "Kings Rose" pattern decoration. Sitting on a footring , the bowl has steeply curving high sides. Decorated on opposing sides with the same design of a large red flower surrounded by smaller yellow flowers with rust petals and leaves.Interior design along rim are four pink flowers spaced around rim and linked by thin line banding, S-curves, and various round shapes. Center of bottom has one red flower with leaves.
Papers stickers underneath are: "Gaudy Dutch/ Kings Rose," then "18B" and finally a loan number "6.23.82" referring to the 1982 loan to the Heritage Center.
Small scratches and areas of paint loss, particularly the round, green "fruits" on inner rim. Inside discoloration, stains, soil. Some wear to foot ring. Rim has multiple tiny chips, abrasions and wear.
Staffordshire transferware sugar bowl in tureen form. Octagonal rounded body (A) sits on a pedestal; two molded applied handles at sides. Conforming domed lid (B) has cutout at one side for spoon and a molded finial on top. Black transfer pattern is a landscape with palatial buildings, trees, vegetation and distant mountains. Border is scroll design with narrow band of quatrefoil flowers and edged with Gothic crockets. Underside marked with pattern name "Missouri" above "B & S." A prominent English registry mark indicates the manufacture date of June 5, 1850.
Glazed soft paste porcelain Gaudy Welsh sugar bowl (A) with lid (B). Handpainted inverted tulips of red and yellow are interspersed with 3 large, dominating deep blue scalloped motifs decorated with copper lustre painted floral decoration. Squat pot-bellied body sits on a low squarish pedestal with scalloped edging. Two molded angular applied handles. Top has round mouth with flared collar extends outward. Domed lid has squarish molded knob finial. Darkened remnant of paper sticker with blurred writing, perhaps "-caster/ --ea set/ --1825."

Pearlware bowl, thrown with applied scallopped edge and sprig ring ornament applied to sides. Handpainted and sponged Polychrome painted decoration, peacock motif. Labels on bottom removed, "Leeds Sugarbowl" and "15B"
Molded pearlware bowl (a) with lid (b). Hand painted and transfer printed Cobalt blue floral print decoration covers all of exterior. Two baskets with flowers on sides. Rectangular handles are part of the piece.
Creamware sugar bowl has apple shaped body with a flaring foot ring and rim. Both lid and bowl are decorated by hand with wide bands of blue and thin rings of red. Sides of bowl have blue flower alternating with smaller leaf sprigs. Lid has low dome topped with a knob resembling a pepperment life saver. Three leaf sprigs spaced around the knob on dome.
Paper sticker on bottom has pencil inscription: "no./ ace/ no".
Reportedly used by donor's great-great-grandmother, Sally, wife of Andrew Ellicott.
A 3 1/2" long section of rim is broken off. One broken piece saved in bowl. Extremely strong brown stain covers most of bowl except for several patches. Same stains sprinkled around bottom of lid. Glazing imperfections such as on top of lid. A 1 3/4" long hairline crack extends up side from base. Dark soil adhering to bottom of foot ring. Bowl has some wear around shoulder.
Molded earthenware sugar bowl with lid, pink surface coloring over pearl-colored body. Four applied feet and applied molded flat handles with molded foliate pattern. Floral finial at top of lid. Transfer printed design of butterflies, fruits, birds. Green enameled border pattern at waist of bowl. Pink lustre trim.
Crotch-grained veneer, central urn finial flanked by two s-curve scroll carvings, white enameled metal dial is arched. Chapter ring has Arabic numerals in black with minutes written in intervals of five around face. Small circular seconds dial.

Tall case clock with inlaid borders and mitered, figured veneers and string inlays on front surfaces. White dial has paint-decorated spandrels with raised lines of paint. Signed "SOLOMON PARKE / Philadelphia" below center dial and calendar wheel. Roman numerals on painted chapter ring; moon wheel at top.
Bonnet has scroll pediment with "reeded" face on scrolls with small, round rosettes. Three ball and spire finials, center on on keystone outlined with lightwood string inlay. String inlay outlines tympanum. Bonnet door has veneer with lightwood escutcheon inlay. Four free-standing columns.
Chamfered corners on trunk and base with triple lines of vertical lightwood stringing. Figured wood on pendulum door and base panel surrounded by wide string inlay of tiger maple? edged with lighter wood. Straight bracket feet.
Parke worked as a clockmaker in Newtown, Bucks Co. for nearly 10 years before moving to a larger facility in Philadelphia in 1790. He produced clocks under his own name until about 1805 when he changed the signature on his clocks to "Solomon Parke & Son."

Typescript page in file states clock was owned by Elmer Ellsworth Hansell (1863-1940) and Amanda Matilda Storch (1874-1966) of Philadelphia, married 1895.
Clock then passed to son Elmer Ellsworth Hansell, Jr. (1903-1974) and wife Virginia Palmer (1907- ? ), married 1935. Elmer Jr. was a civil engineer in Lancaster, working with John H. Wickersham Eng. & Construction Co.
Bottom of interior has broken out board. Some veneer damage with small repairs. Along top of base front are three plugged screw holes.

Notes in file state the Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia own a Solomon Parke clock as does Mrs. Chris. Martin (Mary), of Lancaster.
Research by volunteer : Solomon Parke worked in Newtown and Southampton, Bucks County as a clockmaker. He then moved to Philadelphia where he was listed in directories from 1791-1822. At different times he signed his clocks, "Solomon Parke, Philad," "Solomon Parke and Company," and "Solomon Parke and Son." Solomon is believed to be the father of watchmaker Charles B. Solomon. He had a large clock manufactory and employed French, German, and Swiss workers in the assembly of eight day movements.
