Sole survivor of the 62 inns which once lined the nation's first turnpike between Philadelphia and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Witmer's Tavern still operates as a lodging facility. Just east of Lancaster on Route 340, the buildings five restored rooms welcome guests with antique furnishings and fireplaces.

The Revere Tavern is located along the original Philadelphia to Lancaster Turnpike (now part of U. S. Route 30) in Lancaster County, PA. Dating back to 1740, the Revere Tavern was once a stagecoach tavern. Today, it serves fine American cuisine.
