Carte de visite. Unidentified African American man in light suit with full beard, seated. Has dated tax stamp on reverse. Written on page: "Freed slave who maust have stayed on the farm of Henry Bushong Jr. father of Martin and Jesse or Henry Sr., great grandfather of Marvin, we don't know. Both aided the slaves to freedom. Photo taken in Oxford. No photographer in Q-ville."
Small brown leather album of cartes de visites, one tintype and a loose cabinet card. Inscription, written twice, on front pages: "Presented to Charles H. Bushong by his grandfather Henry Bushong". This album contains photographs of members of the family of Henry Bushong and his son, Gilbert Bushong, who were devout Quakers and Abolitionists who aided freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad at their farm in Bart Township, Lancaster County, during the Civil War.
