Civil war bayonet with broken blade and bronze handle. Stamped "M" in handle. Accompanying tag reads, "picked up from Gettysburg Battlefield on July 7th, 1863 by Isaac W. Leidigh of Paradise."
Wooden handled hammer. Label on side reads, "Hammer taken from the Confederate White House by a Union soldier, H.Stephens, Benj. G. Leachey in the 203rd Regiment."
This refers to Benjamin G. Laechey of company A.
Label in Archives claims hammer was originally propery of Alexander Stephens, vice-president of the Confederacy and was found in his office desk in Richmond, VA.
four squares of hard tack. One square had been broken. Found in envelope which reads, "Hard tack given to Milton S. Royer Company L. Pennsylvania (near Middletown), 6th Volunteers, Camp Meade, August, 27, 1898." Made from flour, water, and salt.
