Oval open-design ceramic pedestal dish. White ceramic dish decorated in blue and gold paint. The oval-shaped bowl (about 15 inches from handle to handle and 9.25 inches across) has sides with an open design. The base is outlined in gold and a hole in the center contains a metal flat-topped pin about 4 inches long that extends below the bowl and is held in place by a cork, threaded onto the pin secured by a wing-nut. The ornately decorated base has open spaces with cascading blue leaves detailed in gold with hanging white acorns. 4 curled designs form the feet for the base. Made in France.

John Wood either already had or, more probably adopted, a middle name 'Wedg' - this rather conveniently caused his marks to been mistaken for the more famous Josiah Wedgwood
One trade directory (1841 Pigot) lists his second name as 'Wedge' but all others correctly give 'Wedg'. John Wedg Wood died, age 43, in May 1857.
Rockingham style sugar bowl with lid. White china body with underglaze decor consisting of beige ground with scattered large scrolling yellow leaves edged in gold and occasional small branches with white berries and 3-leaf branch tips. Lower edge of beige ground defined with a thin undulating vine. Gilt highlights, flourishes and edging. Applied handles feature finger ring handles and a domed lid.

Oblong shaped walnut veneered container with a back-hinged lid, beveled shape raised central flat area carved with egg-bead molding. Brass 8-point star bail handles are on each end; one handle missing. Brass round keyhole escutcheon is centered on the top front façade of the box with egg & bead molding around the base surmounting four flat-bun shaped feet. Interior features two boxes with back hinged lids as storage compartments for tea leaves. In the center is a circular aperture lined with felt holding a star cut glass mixing bowl to blend tea leaves.

Walnut chest of drawers. Two small drawers mounted side by side just below the top of the chest with three full-width drawers below; each drawer has two glass drawer pulls and a centered, brass escutcheon keyhole. The chest has recessed side panels with matching crotch-grain walnut veneer. The chest sits on four turnip feet for overall support.
Round, oinion top gothic clock. Coil gong is mounted on an iron base, brass pendulum bob. Four finial points at top of clock. Etched glass case at base.
On loan from the American Clock & Watch museum of Bristol, Connecticut. Loan accession assigned in 1959 by the James Buchanan Foundation. Loan papers renew annually.
The compote has an oval shape, open-worked grape vine motif; four birds perching in the vine, one on each side. The gilt rim is flat with a lip extending down and then flaring out. A thin gilt band surrounds the bowl just above the pierced vine body. Three smaller gilt bands define the base of the bowl above a white pedestal that flares out to an oval shape with a wide gilt band around its base that surmounts four feet appearing as scrolled foliate motifs. Between each support is a cluster of grapes extending down but not touching the surface.
