Two small drawers mounted side by side just below the top of the chest with three full-width drawers below; each drawer has two glass drawer pulls and a centered, brass escutcheon keyhole. The chest has recessed side panels with matching crotch-grain walnut veneer. The chest sits on four turnip feet for overall support.

Fordney" Also labeled, "Done by my Great-Grandmother, Sarah Michael Cox, Wife of Friend Cox Mother of Ida Cox Fordney, Her brother, Michael, owned the Grape Tavern, also known as the Michael House. I have a sugar bowl marked Michael House."
Detailed cut paper scene of family in garden. Scene includes a woman seated, man standing, 2 children amid trees with birds. May be an 18th century scene. Black on white, bordered by an ink line with curved corners. Scene is about two and three quarters inches wide and one and three quarters inches high. Written on back, "Done by Sarah Cox, born Sarah Michael" Frame is faux wood grain.
