Henry to Louisa Anderson agreeing with her that they should be separated less often but circumstances might decide otherwise; Mr. Parker hasn’t written about his business trip but should when he reaches his home in Guelph, Canada; if he feels well he will embark on a two- to three-week vacation to Lake George, visiting Uncle Edward on the way; he will bring some of his goods to Staten Island to be shipped to Australia; asks about Henny Thieriot; likes matrimony; wonders if Mrs. Muney or Mrs. Meade will be at Lake George; implores her to exert her authority on Dody in a way to gain his everlasting respect; went to a party on a cool piazza and a moonlight row on the bay; mentions Mrs. Southgate and Mrs. Magruder. Henry to Louisa Anderson announcing that he arrive on the train with Mr. and Mrs. Southgate and Mrs. Harrison; not feeling very well; Mr. and Mrs. Magruder are well; Dr. [Rideout] called this morning; and has seen Parker and the building of his new house. Envelope addressed to Mrs. J. Buchanan Henry, Stapleton, Staten Island, New York postmarked with stamp removed. Annapolis, Maryland, Wednesday, [19 November 1877].

Description
Letter from J. B. Henry to Louisa Anderson. After usual greetings, says he has telegraphed her that they will be home on Thursday because of scarlet fever in the area; asks her to arrange for children’s care on a farm and is greatly concerned about the issue; is caring well for James and Ellen since Lulie has gone home; hoping that she can come back soon. Enclosed telegraph from Louis R. [Lege] that his baby has died of scarlet fever. Envelope in five pieces with postmark and three loose stamps [two from other envelopes]. Watch Hill.
