Organized 1786 by the Synod of New York and Philadelphia. (An earlier body by this name had existed from May 1765 to May 1766 as an off-shoot of Donegal Presbytery). Was an Old School presbytery during the Schism; merged with the Presbytery of Big Spring (UPNA) in 1958 to form Big Spring (UPCUSA); name changed to Carlisle (UPCUSA) in 1960.
