1913 Calendar for J.N. Olweiler, featuring model Leonora

Genuine Colored Photogravure 1913 calendar used as advertizing for J. N. Olweiler "Clothing and Gents Furnishings" Elizabethtown, PA - with a head and shoulders portrait of a young woman in dark red velvet dress & large dark red hat with feathers. Her picture is copyrighted: "J.A. 1910" (James Arthur). A loop of cording through two punched holes at the top for hanging.
6" x 3.5" calendar is at center bottom beneath oval picture of woman. Pages for January through April have been torn off. May through December remain.
Label on the back lists the title of this calendar: "Leonora," from the original by artist James Arthur.

Christian Cornelius, a Dutch immigrant silversmith, founded the Cornelius lighting business in 1827, which became Cornelius, Baker, and Company in 1835. ... The firm began by making brass lighting fixtures but later also made zinc fixtures and sculptures. The business was succeeded by Cornelius and Sons and Baker, Arnold and Company in 1869.

The front of the skirt is plain with a serpentine shape surmounting fully formed Louis XV cabriole legs with floral motif carvings at the top. Empire era maple side chair; scroll cut and carved crest with pierced hand-hold at crest. Rail with horizontal splat, upholstered seat terminating with cabriole legs.
Crotch-grained veneer, central urn finial flanked by two s-curve scroll carvings, white enameled metal dial is arched. Chapter ring has Arabic numerals in black with minutes written in intervals of five around face. Small circular seconds dial.

Owned by Buchanan. Remained at Wheatland through Harriet's, Willson's and Rettew's ownership. Sold at auction of Mary Rettew's estate to Donor (Suter)
This sterling silver coffeepot has a hinged angular and oblong shaped lid with a finial top surmounting a flaired angular neck adorned with a Greek key above a bulging torso. The spout is square with a goose neck shape and flat opening. The pot handle is angular and square with ribbed band decor. The pedstal style base is supported by four ball feet.
