Tag for a Westley Special Box Spring made by Herr Manufacturing Co. Lancaster, Pa. for H. Westley & Co. Stamp of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry, Harrisburg, Registry No. 53. Date stamp on reverse: August 1942.
Admin/Biographical History
Herr Manufacturing Co. started in 1907. In 1994 the plant was located at 625 Fountain Ave., Lancaster and relocated to 18 Prestige Lane, East Hempfield Twp. The company was purchased by Serta Simmons Bedding in 2003 and then closed in 2018.
H. Westley & Co. had a store at 328 East Market Street, York, PA in 1927.
