A barn raising demonstrates the spirit of cooperation in the Amish community of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. After a fire or anytiem a new barn is needed, neighbors gather to erect a new one, usually finishing within one day. No one is paid for his work, bu each man knows he cound count on the same help under similar circumstances.
