Letter from James Buchanan to Eskridge Lane giving Harriet complete control over the furnishing of Wheatland; expressing satisfaction with his investments except for railroad bonds; showing his extreme unhappiness with his position in England, but determining to remain there until someone is nominated for the Presidency, which he does not want and will not seek. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009.
