John Armstrong was an army officer during the French and Indian war and the Revolutionary War. In 1758 during the French and Indian War , Armstrong writes a letter from Lancaster, PA, to General George Washington.They were both part of the expedition of British General Forbes to dislodge the French from Fort Duquesne. Colonel Bouquet was second in command under General Forbes.

This is a monthly publication of the Yeates Episcopal School citing activities of the school and its students. It was established with money donated by Jasper Yeate's daughter Catherine in 1857. The school was located on grounds presently occupied by the Lancaster Mennonite High School.
