"Sterling" stamped along edge of base. About 1in wide tube at base tapers to a 6.5in bell at the top, Tow decorative bands, 8.5in apart, encircle the horn with moveable wire rings to attach or suspend the horn. Engraving on stem: "Presented by the LaFayette Hose Co. of Baltimore to the Union Fire Co. of Lancaster Penna." The bell is embellished with flowers and leaves.
Silver speaking trumpet in 5 sections including mouthpiece that taper from a 7.5in bell to a 1in tube below the mouthpiece. Four outward curving bands with tiny beaded borders connect the sections. The two central bands anchor rings, 7in apart. A 4 strand multi-colored cording with tasseled ends is looped between the rings.
Functioning commemorative speaking trumpet with 5 sections: ornate bell and a spiraling portion of the stem have a brass colored finish. Others appear to be silver. Four ropelike silver coils separate portions. Two of these have eyes with a brass ring. A sash of 2.5in wide faded red silk ribbon tied in a bow hangs from one ring. Engraved: "Presented to the/Friendship Fire Company/by Henry E. Leman/1858."
Union Fire Co. flag. Formerly green fabric (cotton), doubled over with rod pocket at top. Machine-stitches on sides and bottom. "UNION No. 1" in white muslin machine-stitched on both sides. Top and bottom on one side: black thread to hold string to tie the banner. String broke from bottom and is tied on a top corner.
Union Fire Company Annual Banquet ticket on green card stock with 2 corners at one end cut off/beveled. A black ink line 1/4" from edges forms a rectangle with the following infornation:

Union fireman's belt. 2 1/2-inch leather belt painted black, edges bound in white leather with a zig-zag edge on the front. Center cut-out portion reveals a dark green background, raised white letters: "17 Union 60". A sliding gold-colored metal buckle (3") displays in relief fire-fighting equipment. A shield in the center contains a #1. On the back, a 6 1/2-inch long x 3/4" wide belt with 10 holes is attached 7 1/2" from the rounded end of the belt. A sold strip ending in a buckle is attached 7" from the opposite end.
