Three genealogy pages from the James Buchanan Lane family Bible. These pages list the marriage of James Buchanan Lane to Martha A. Jenkins and their son, James B. Lane, Jr. to Thomasine Thomas. It also has the births and deaths of James and Martha’s children, as well as their son, John Newton Lane’s children’s births and deaths.

The origin is in the partnership formed in 1832 by Joseph Trowbridge Bailey and Andrew B. Kitchen. New partnership was formed in 1848 under the name Bailey & Company until 1859.

Insured & appraised value is total for seven pieces of which the silver chocolate pot is one artifact.
Gold brooch with glass cover encasing 2-3 locks of braided hair and one wisp of hair on back of brooch. Engraving on brooch reads: "Mary aged 10 months; Jennie aged 3 years, 2 months, 12 days; Willie aged 1 year, 2 months, 3 days."
These were the first three of seven children to James B & Martha J. Lane, to which Harriet Lane was aunt.
