Document by Edward Y. Buchanan acknowledging possession of $6,314.69, the whole remaining balance of his brother James’ estate, at the final filing of the account on August 13, 1873; and acknowledging receipt of his commissions in the amount of $106 from Mr. Swarr.

Letter to E. Y. Buchanan from Charles M. Howell giving an estimate for granite cemetery posts of $350 if plain and $400 if fashioned according to an enclosed drawing. (The drawing is lost.) Accompanying the letter is an undated newspaper article criticizing the later reduction in size of James Buchanan’s cemetery lot.
