Letter from E. Y. Buchanan to H. B. Swarr noting that Miss C. Pleasanton must ask Harriet Johnston for the Bible, as it is probably not the one drawn by James Buchanan Henry; asserting his right to distribute the canes as he sees fit; doubting that Mrs. Magaw will receive any more money at present; and mentioning receipt of the modified advertisement for the farm from Mr. Williams. Weaver be advanced $100 from the estate since his job in New York pays only $7 per week; noting that the wedding “passed off very pleasantly” with a number of out-of-town guests, but regretting that the animosity between him and the Johnstons prevented him from inviting them; and sending regards to Mrs. Swarr and Miss Sallie.
