Lane, Frederick Brown, Esq., George Plitt, Esquire, or Robert Tyler, Esquire. Three from James Buchanan carry his signature and free franking, one has an intact seal; 2 others carry intact seals; 3 carry stamps; 2 are marked “paid”; 7 carry postmarks; and one has no markings.

Geary, governor of Kansas, who is certain that he can contain the trouble there; promising to work for James Buchanan if he consents to their trip; and learning that the black Republicans in Congress have stopped insisting that troops be removed from Kansas.
