Henry to Mary Hagner Nicholson recounting his quick thinking when receiving from the coachman a bouquet meant for her but having to give it to Miss Givins; Dr. Dan will take Miss Grace of Baltimore and perhaps meet Miss Scott; the Ingrahams indicate that Miss Emily will return this week; expects to be admitted to the bar in a week or two in Philadelphia and New York; and appreciates Uncle Alex’s treatment of Mr. McSill. Envelope with postmark and stamp addressed to Miss Mary H. Nicholson, Annapolis, Maryland. Washington, D.C.

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
