Title
Letter from Roland Kinzer to J. B. Henry
Description
Letter from Roland Kinzer to J. B. Henry lecturing on delay in writing letters; envious of his ability to attract women; loves the movements of Miss Albertine; hates ballroom dancing; says the new term at Mr. Bollmar’s school is off to a good start; Mr. Bollmar has not insulted J. B. Henry yet; calls M. B. Moses greedy for getting so many letters and answering them promptly; likes his church and its organ music; Miss Caldwell sits in the choir loft but Sally will not; the French teacher knows how to speak to the boys; Budd is an original and according to Budd takes great care of his beaver hat; [Deaffy] still is dumb and foolish; wants all the gossip about the ladies of Washington; Vallarino is in New York with his parents until the 4th of July; Mr. Fergus’ brother, the organist, died by suicide; the boys were given permission to go bathing but none would because of the heavy mud and many leeches; relates an “Irish” joke; and the Latin teacher entered the music room and made sounds of a trumpet with his mouth. Envelope with postmark and no franking or stamp and remains of seal on back addressed to Mr. James B Henry, care of Hon. James Buchanan, Lancaster City, Penna. West Chester, Pa.
