Blake urging Mr. Riggs to force a sale of the farm on which the Leonards currently live over Mr. Bowie’s objections; lambasts the “despotic” Lincoln administration for its latest “document”; thinks that friends of McClellan are foolish to put his name forward for the Presidency unless he has the backing of the Democratic Party and other conservative groups; and that James Henry has just argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009.
