Photograph of document certifying the marriage of Jacob Ferree and Alice Powel, July 1, 1783. He was from Lancaster County, she was from Chester County. Also oath of allegience sworn by Jacob Ferree of Mifflin Township, Allegheny County on November 14, 1794.
Rifle with flint lock, full stock of curly maple, brass mountings, octagonal barrel 44 inches long marked I (or J) Ferree on the top facet of the barrel. This rifle is one of the few examples known in the Pittsburgh area that was made there in the eighteenth century. Although it was probably made by Jacob Ferree, there is little in its style that suggests his earlier residence in Lancaster County.
