Description
Letter from Mary Hagner Nicholson Henry to J. B. Henry expressing delight that he arrived in New York safely; has several ailments but under treatment; requests some remedies not available at home; doesn’t like Mrs. Kavendish; baby and Elizabeth are well; asks that he write a letter for Elizabeth to sign updating her relatives; Mrs. Van Buren is prescribing for her; asks to apprise Dr. Anderson of her condition; and there is a ‘mysterious couple in the house.” Envelope addressed to J. Buchanan Henry, 14 Wall St., New York, postmark and small bit of stamp. Saratoga Springs, N.Y. [06/16/1863] Date from envelope.
