Henry relating that Mary is visiting her ill mother in Atlanta; hopes to meet Jesse Love Freeman while she is in town; has been traveling on business; Reginald will soon earn is M.D. degree; asks to borrow some furniture when they buy a house; and the governments obstructions hinder building the new rail road. Envelope with postmarks and two loose stamps addressed to Mr. J. Buchanan Henry, c/o Brown, Shipley & Co, 123 Pall Mall, London, England, forwarded to Villa Cercola, Capri, Italy. Columbus, Ohio. Henry reporting that he spent some time with Uncle Frank on the Alabama shortly before it sailed; comments on Joe’s being mustered out of service; wonders if Lal has heard; says much is happening on the exchange; Will was there for a couple of days; Jessie Grange is engaged to Waller (a former member of the Maryland legislature), who deserves her; Elise will probably be next; and the pin from Tiffany’s arrived and has been cleaned “first rate.” [11/1902] Date from context.

Henry acknowledging receipt of two letters and will; comments on James’s new-born daughter; will be in New York to visit Jean and Rob; the railroad business is running smoothly; will move because George Le Boutiller needs the house; his loss of hair has been greatly exaggerated though the fever did claim some; and attended dinner with doctors at the hospital where earlier James Buchanan Henry met the man who conned William out of $5.00.
