Swarr explaining his objections to Mr. Howell’s proposal for the monument; noting that Mr. Diller’s estimate for the railing is higher than expected; noting that Mr. Pearce’s bill for John Weaver’s education must be paid soon, but more details are needed regarding Dr. Cardera’s bill for treating John; acquiescing to a remittance for Mrs. Dunham requested by Dr. Yates, but requiring written proof of her Uncle’s intention to forego charging her interest on her bond; asking for a copy of Judge Black’s opinion contained in Mr. Johnston’s letter; and cautioning against providing Mr. Johnston with their entire proceedings. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Letter from E. Y. Buchanan to H. B. Swarr saying that he has dealt with the affairs of Mrs. Dunham and asked her to name a person to handle a power of attorney; that Gaw Bacon & Co are holding all securities until the rate improves; that he prefers to visit Lancaster when Mr. Johnston is not there; that Jessie Magaw has written asking for $100 to help her parents; and that he is glad to learn that Mr. Howell is getting a solid block of marble for the monument and hopes to see Mr. Howell in Lancaster.
