She praises a concert given by pianist [Maurice] Strakosch and Miss Northall and urges him to purchase a piano like it. She advises him to direct his letters to the Marine Pavilion Rockaway to differentiate it from the town of Rockaway on Long Island. Signed Harriette L. The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Letter from Jasper Yeates to his wife, Sarah in which he described the journey by stagecoach from Lancaster to Lancaster with their young grandson, Yeates. Jasper knew that his wife wanted to hear how their grandson fared on the journey to Philadelphia-if he slept, how he behaved, and what he ate-and that he was back with his family in Philadelphia.
