Brick farmhouse with a woman outside opening shutters. Note on front of picture: "Centerville, Lanc Co. Pa. Rev. Jacob L. Hiestand and wife Annie 1857-1885."
Note on back of picture: Birth place at Centerville, Lanc Co, Pa of Mrs. H.M. Bowman nee (Kate Hiestand) the former home of her parents the late Jacob & Annie Howard Hiestand from about 1857 to 1885. Mrs. Annie Hiestand then a widow (Jacob deceased July 14, 1879) sold this place of about 10 acres and moved with her unmarried children (6) to Lancaster. It passed thru several owners hands and in 1934 was the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton. It was built in 1847 by David and Catharine Musselman according to the tablet in the post wall."
