Summary
The "mystery" mentioned in the title asks why this respected painter stopped painting at age 36 after her beloved father's death. Ms Peart was born in Columbia , PA,but spent most of her life in Philadelphia and Atlantic City. She ended up living the last 30 yrs of her life in a rented room next to the Susquehanna river in WashingtonBoro,PA. She bequeathed many of her paintings and a sum of money to Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster. In return for this, the college was to maintain her family's cemetery in Washington Boro.
