Agreement between Elliott T. Lane and James Buchanan concerning funds of Jane B. Lane, Elliott’s wife and James’ sister, and in case she makes no will, how the estate will be divided. Involves bequeaths from her father, James Buchanan, and her mother, Elizabeth Buchanan. Also mentioned in the agreement are her sister, Harriett Henry, and her brother, the Reverend Edward Y. Buchanan, and her four children, James B. Lane, Elliott E. Lane, Mary Elisabeth Lane and Harriett Rebecca Lane. Franklin County, PA.

Swarr stating that he has a temporary address with Mr. Cassatt at Haverford College; noting that Elliott Eskridge Lane was pleased to receive interest on interest, but had trouble withdrawing the money until Edward Young Buchanan added the word “guardians” after his and Swarr’s names; approving Mr. Ancona to have use of the Buchanan Scholarship, assuming that Swarr thinks the young man “proper and deserving”; thanking Swarr for the $23.50 pertaining to Harriet Lane Johnston’s trust fund; and surmising that Mr. Curtis, who is now at Richfield Springs, will bring out the biography before long. 1342 Pine Street, Philadelphia.
