Eichholtz travelled to Boston in 1811-12 to study with accomplished portrait artist, Gilbert Stuart. This travel was sponsored by Rev. Thomas Barton, rector of St. James Episcopal Church. Barton also commissioned this copy of Stuart's portrait of Washington.

Sign in store window "George Washington Period Herirlooms, Displayed thru the courtesy of Lancaster City Residents in Co-operation of the Washington Bi-Centennial Celebration." Items include a 45 star American Flag (Utah was the 45th state added and not until 1896, so the flag is not a "period heirloom!") Other items: Portrait of Martha Washington, Tea set, needle point foot stool, candle stick basket various pieces of furniture and a rifle.
