Nutmeg grater is a 3.5" long cylinder of tinned sheet iron with fitted cap at both ends. One cap is fitted and hinged. Upon removing cap, the hinge is attached to a long narrow section of the cylinder side that falls away to reveal a grater made of raised perforations in this narrow section of body. Additional hinge at bottom cap holds the removed long narrow section & top cap, preventing complete detachment. Clever design allows storage of spice within when closed.
