Duplicate press-molded glass bowls, A & B. Relief molded ornament commemorating centennial celebration of the Declaration of Independence. Banner with "Declaration of Independence" over the Liberty Bell on one side and " 100 YEARS AGO" in large letters on the opposite side.
Letter box with slant front, hinged-lid, and multi-compartment interior. Exterior is done in silver, ebony, ivory, and mahogany inlay in a cube and flower design. Interior is wood with circular inlay design with ivory, silver, jade, and red material. Key included.
Brought from Siam in the 1860s by Admiral William Reynolds, brother of General John Fulton Reynolds.
Tapered mahogany wooden cane with smooth dark finish. One and three quarter inch long golden brass cap/band at top of cane is engraved with a man's profile, President G. Cleveland, on top. 2.125 inch wide brass ferrule on bottom above .75 inch steel tip.
On side written longitudinally: Carried and presented to the L.C.H.S. by George W. Hensel, Jr. 1943.
Engraved horizontally: From Grover Cleveland to W.U. Hensel Easter Time 1893.
Engraving from Hensel to LCHS was a later engraving.
Black painted wood cane with cast metal handle and metal ferrule tip, handle marked, "Grand Army of the Republic, 1861 Veteran 1865" on both sides. Includes emblems of branches of service, eagle, and flag.
A) Walnut dove-tailed case with hinged lid with bail handle. Hook and eye closure at front. Interior is divided into five slots, lined in purple velvet. Lid contains brown paper label written in cursive, "S.R. Slaymaker's / original sample case / 1888"
Contents includes 5 locks of varying sizes and styles with cutaways on 2 largest, several of them marked "Pat. 1888" (B-F) and 2 keys (G,H)
Case has minor marring, stains and soil. Back of case has adhesive residue in rectangular shape. Velvet has wear and fading. Locks have expected wear, esp. paint finish.
Sketch by Lloyd Mifflin (and Thomas Moran?), "The Bridge at Wrightsville". Gray flecked paper has pencil sketch of landscape with river and bridge in distance. Mounted with homemade window mat of dark gray with line borders around window.
Kraft paper backing has "Wrightsville Bridge" in ink at top right and pencil inscriptions at center reading "acid free linen mat barrier and backing used herein - another Mifflin sketch on back of existing sketch-"

Bottom right corner of sketch missing. Old glass in a plaster-molded thin wood frame is painted flat black over original gold. Multiple paint chips. Backing paper perforated especially at top and left side.
Face: "The John Scott Medal, to the Most Deserving / to Christian Metzler for his Signal Lantern for Railways. On the recommendation of the Franklin Institute, 1885."
Needlework in oak frame showing house, antlered deer, and date of 1887. Also contains ancient Hebrew words translated as "Swift like the deer." Bold blue paper border with small brown paper scherenschnitte in each corner. Writing on brown paper backing.
