This picture was drawn in India Ink from nature by my father J. Houston Mifflin while/ a youth. "Found Green" is now part of/ "Fairmount Park" - Philada. PA. --on the East bank of / The Schuykill River. L.M."
Wood frame. Clear glass pinned by wood strips on all four sides. Art work and backer held in place by small nails bent over. Eyebolt screwed horizontally into top piece of frame for hanging.
Foxing and stains on the drawing. Soiled around edges. Glass edges dirty. Three frame miters loose as well as glass, print and backer. Open to dust. Paper piece and wood backer touching and both are acidic.

Carbon Print of Abraham Lincoln, showing head and shoulders in jacket and tie in sepia tones in an oval on a gold background (4 in x 5.5 in) bordered in black. Glass over print. One quarter inch frame with one sixteenth inch gold inner border; rest is a textured brown tape from front, around sides, and covering three eighths inches on back securing back, print and glass. A wire loop, top center is attached to a leaf-shaped fabric tag. Pasted to back is a paper strip: "Genuine Carbon Print, hand painted in Actual Metal Colors -- CARBON CLOISONNE. Will not tarnish nor fade: Price....."
