Memorandum on which the Buchanan Income Tax Return was made from January 1, 1868 to Jun 1st, 1868, being the day of his death including interest received on bonds and mortgages with list of payers, state and other loans on which income tax was not withheld, state and other loans on which the taxes were withheld, and rent from house in Lancaster. Lancaster.

Description
Memorandum from Edward Young Buchanan and Hiram B. Swarr requesting that Mr. Cadwalader write a biography including the transfer of all documents, etc., pertaining to the biography to Mr. Cadwalader, and he alone will decide whether to proceed or not; no one will supervise of inspect the work or interfere with its execution; he will receive $3000 for expenses and the balance when the work is ready for publication; and his relationship will remain honorary. Signed by all three persons. Lancaster.
