Summary
The collection contains advertising and promotional materials for a wide variety of businesses and organizations. Included are items from manufacturing, department and clothing stores, entertainment, grocery stores, restaurants, service providers, and clubs. Of special interest is the use of both English and German in a brochure from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., as well as in the soap-making directions from the Pennsylvania Salt Co. Also, a 1921 program from Lancaster's Colonial Theatre and boxing programs listing Leo Houck.

Description
Pamphlet describing the intrigue surrounding the 1824 election of John Quincy Adams as President of the United States after the election was decided by the House of Representatives. Mr. George Kremer, a representative from Pennsylvania, is accused of being a ‘mere tool’ of James Buchanan. Bargain and sale slander conspiracy exposed. James Buchanan the sole author.
Custodial History
The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.

Description
Pamphlet entitled “The Cottage at Shottery, near Stratford-upon-Avon, Where Shakespeare wooed and won his wife Anne Hathaway; whose name has suggested the following exquisite jeu de mots,” with engraving and poem. Handwritten note at bottom: From Mrs. Upham. Shottery. Monday. Aug 28th 1854. On reverse: This was given to Mrs Harriet Lane Johnston before she was married, on a visit to Shottery.
