Summary
Records of information for city residents to determine their city tax liability. Although the content and quality of data varies considerably from one year to the next, earlier volumes generally include names of property holders, tenants, and single freemen, occupation, race, house and grounds owned, number and type of outbuildings, farm animals, aggregate value, and tax amount assessed and owed. All volumes are bound, arranged chronologically and alphabetically by first letter of last name, and by ward beginning in 1858.
