. Henry Clay furnace, on the Pennsyl- vania railroad and canal, between Chickies and Columbia, was built in 1845, by Peter Haldeman, of Columbia. Chikiswalungo furnace, later changed to Chickies, at the mouth of Chickies creek, was built by Henry Haldeman, who resided just below Bainbridge, for his sons
