This collection of Bridge Information Compiled by Benjamin Weaver contains index cards prepared by Mr. Weaver with information about bridges over several creeks in Lancaster County. The waterways include the Beaver, Calamus, Big Chiques, Little Chiques, Cocalico, Conestoga, Little Conestoga, Conewago, Conowingo, Coon, Conoy, Hammer, Mill, Muddy, East Octoraro, West Octoraro, Pequea and Peters. Information includes the name, township(s), and type of each bridge, and may also include the date of construction, contractors, commissioners, size and weight limit, details on location and/or destruction or replacement of the bridge.

. Henry Clay furnace, on the Pennsyl- vania railroad and canal, between Chickies and Columbia, was built in 1845, by Peter Haldeman, of Columbia. Chikiswalungo furnace, later changed to Chickies, at the mouth of Chickies creek, was built by Henry Haldeman, who resided just below Bainbridge, for his sons
