Act to confirm election of trustees of the Second Presbyterian Church
Description
Act to confirm election of trustees of the Second Presbyterian Church signed by Pennsylvania’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Henry K. Strong, Speaker of the Senate, William Mulhenberg Hiester and Governor, James Pollock . An act to confirm and legalize the election of trustees of the Second Presbyterian Congregation of the City of Lancaster signed by Henry K. Strong, Speaker of the House of Representatives, William M. Hiester, Speaker of the Senate, and James Pollock, Governor, and certified by John M. Sullivan, Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth confirming the election of several trustees after failing to do so according to the charter of the church. This act upholds the action of the Golden seal with red ribbon on last page. Lancaster, PA.

This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. With envelope, return address Armor's Old Book Store, Adjacent to Court House, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Fragile condition, separated at folds.

In 1847, Jeffry Goulden was a pastor for the Fredericktown Circuit, A.M.E. Church, Baltimore District. (The Baltimore Sun, 3 May 1847) He is listed as a laborer in Ward 6, Baltimore, Maryland, in the 1850 Census.
