Small black album of photographys and cyanotypes of people and scenes around Lancaster County taken between 1900 and 1906. Many of the places are identifiable, but names of people not always included. Several pages at the front of the album are loose. Album belonged to Blanche Hartman.
School days and spring days contrast as an Amishman and his son drive past a one room Amish school in Lancaster County, PA. While one room schools have been abandonded by the public school system, the Amish have purchased many of the buildings and provide their own parochial school system for children through the eighth grade whenn on-th-job farm training replaces traditional textbooks.
