Swarr expressing sorrow at Mrs. Johnston’s exceptions to Mr. Swift’s excellent report, because now the unpleasant facts to which she refers will be more widely distributed; suggesting that payment to the other heirs be postponed until settlement of the threatened proceedings; approving the hiring of Mr. North and making arrangements for him to see the proceedings of the equity suit; and planning to meet with Mr. Preston of Boston who is strongly recommended by Mr. Capen to be the biographer of James Buchanan.
