Letter from James Buchanan to Christian Bachman, Esq. asking that an outstanding judgment against Col. Stambaugh be revived. Buchanan wants his name left out of any resolution if it would raise opposition. He wants to protect General Cass. Comments disapprovingly of General Taylor’s prospects for carrying the state.
